January 2022 Update

CEPE® Recent Technology Advancements

The KADI Botanical Extraction Technology, the patented Centrifugal Electrostatic Precipitator Extractor or CEPE® technology continues to evolve because of changes incorporated into the functions and certain components of the CEPE® III industrial unit. An approximate 35% increase in the daily throughput rate of conventional dried biomass is expected which will result in further cost reductions in the products produced using the CEPE® technology.

New capabilities have been added to the CEPE® III industrial demonstrator unit and an additional (divisional) patent application has been filed.

- Processing of fresh harvested (un-dried) Biomass and / or processing of Fresh frozen biomass into the same finished product forms we can presently produce. **

- A Nitrogen generation plant has been integrated into the CEPE® III trailer housing to eliminate the purchasing and storage of Nitrogen gas used in the CEPE® process.

**Successful fresh frozen processing of biomass has been demonstrated on the CEPE® II unit using fresh frozen flower together with an increased cold trap capacity to allow for more rapid collection of both evaporating water and evaporating monoterpenes. This process results in an additional monoterpene product output, in addition to the existing broad spectrum cannabinoid oil and cannabinoid infused products.

Although the processing time of fresh harvested or frozen biomass will be longer than for conventional dried biomass, the time between harvest and finished product will be reduced by weeks in time and the risk of mould formation and other issues that can occur during the drying and handling of the biomass are eliminated, obviously the building space and HVAC equipment required for drying and conserving the biomass harvest would no longer be a requirement.

In addition to providing a significant increase in the immediate and very valuable monoterpene capture capacity, the fresh or fresh frozen biomass processing capability opens the door to the potential of combined harvest and processing machines in the future using CEPE® Technology.

Patent Activity

NEW letters of acceptance have been received from the Australian patent office, the Pakistan patent office and the Jamaican patent office (issue fees for these patents have also been fully paid). These newly issued patents add to the growing list of issued patents in Canada, Lebanon, Taiwan, and South Africa. Patents are still pending in many other jurisdictions.
